Zimmer Biomet, a global leader in medical technologies, develops innovative solutions to improve surgical precision, particularly for knee surgery, through the ROSA® robot, deployed in over 200 hospitals.

Zimmer Biomet, a global leader in medical technologies, develops innovative solutions to improve surgical precision, particularly for knee surgery, through the ROSA® robot, deployed in over 200 hospitals.

This project, conducted in collaboration with Bassan agency, aimed to redesign the user interface, taking into account technical and temporal constraints, while preserving the familiar experience for surgeons. In a fast-paced format, with tight deadlines, we supported the team on the first phase of this redesign, including specific flow elements and animations.

In a fast-paced format, with tight deadlines, we supported the team on the first phase of this redesign, including specific flow elements and animations.

Working in pairs, I contributed to developing conceptual proposals, before breaking down the different solutions to cover all cases validated with the developers. We also conducted a client visit to validate the mockups (contrasts, etc.). Throughout the project, I ensured overall follow-up, particularly with other internal teams for creating micro-animations and GIFs, while designing concepts in a way that would facilitate their implementation by others.

Our inspirations for this project were varied, ranging from futuristic user interfaces (FUI) to aircraft cockpit interfaces, including modern applications like automotive infotainment screens and space shuttle systems.

Our inspirations for this project were varied, ranging from futuristic user interfaces (FUI) to aircraft cockpit interfaces, including modern applications like automotive infotainment screens and space shuttle systems.

For this, we proposed three concepts, ranging from minimal changes to more significant transformations, designing a reliable, clear, understandable, modern and inspiring interface.

In a context of strict time constraints, the client opted for limited adjustments during this first phase, focusing on modifying backgrounds, colors, icons and alignment of certain elements, while preserving the existing structure and user experience.

In a context of strict time constraints, the client opted for limited adjustments during this first phase, focusing on modifying backgrounds, colors, icons and alignment of certain elements, while preserving the existing structure and user experience.

After validating contrasts directly at the client's site, in order to be in real conditions, we were able to implement the interfaces and validated choices according to key screens and main identified use cases. This work resulted in the creation of around forty screens distributed across seven distinct sections.

In parallel, various requests, such as icon redesigns and GIF creation, were handled simultaneously.

For the GIFs, I collaborated with two colleagues to finalize the renders. My role consisted of clarifying the request by creating mockups and prototypes via Figma to validate the concept. Subsequently, I ensured internal project follow-up, making sure that GIFs and animations were produced in the correct format.

Summary of my missions:

  • Exploration of inspirations for the interface and development of concepts according to three levels of evolution.

  • Taking into account time constraints and implementing mockups according to various use cases, to ensure graphic consistency aligned with the level of change validated by the client (level 1 concept).

  • Conceptual creation of visual assets, including GIFs and micro-animations, to enrich the user experience, and follow-up with the internal team for their collaborative implementation.

  • Project follow-up and communication with clients to ensure compliant implementation and efficient tracking of requests.
